(Pooler, GA) One of the most popular International Musical
acts in the late 70, 80, 90s and currently is Meat Loaf. The
internationally acclaimed multi-million record seller was
scheduled for a concert in Biloxi, Mississippi, later this
month (Friday Sept.16) Obviously, this dates will not be
able to take place in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Meat Loaf has decided to alter his tour plans to do a
"Hurricane Relief" Benefit Concert in Savannah, Georgia,
on Saturday, September 17 at the Oglethorpe Speedway
Park. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross "Hurricane
Relief" Fund benefiting those hit the hardest from Hurricane
Katrina. It will be a single night show with tickets priced
at only $25.
Many other Savannah area businesses have already jumped
on board for the effort. Yellow Freight Lines will have a
truck and trailer ready for concert goers to bring items
requested by the Red Cross for the hurricane relief
efforts. The truck will go from the speedway concert area
directly to the Red Cross effort in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Tickets for the benefit concert will go on sale at
Oglethorpe Speedway Park next Thursday, September 8 at
9:00am. Tickets may also be purchased by telephone using
Visa or MasterCard at 912-964-8200. Other ticket outlets
may be named early next week.
