(Savannah, GA) The first day of
operation for Chatham County Paintball at Oglethorpe
Speedway Park was a success according to it’s creators.
Twenty-four paintball enthusiasts were on hand for the first
day of open competition at the recently built field located
in the wooded areas of the speedway property in Pooler.
“This is an awesome
field to play on,” said Savannah’s John Trent. “I
appreciate the guys doing this for our area. We used to
have to drive a long ways to play. Now this field is very
convenient. It’s great.”
Players from
Savannah, Pooler, Guyton, Rincon, Statesboro, Hinesville,
Hilton Head and Bluffton were on hand for the opening round
of action. All attendees were complimentary of the field,
obstacles, bunkers and forts.
“The scenario games
were cool,” said South Effingham high schooler Patrick
Arnett. “It made the games more fun than just shooting at
each other. It was like a video game only live.”
Chatham County
Paintball at OSP will be open every other Saturday beginning
on Saturday, December 31. The fields are also available for
private parties including company outings, birthday parties
and group play. There are rentals available for those who
do not have their own equipment and there is also a Pro Shop
located at the speedway.
