(Savannah, GA) The third
week of the Oglethorpe Speedway Park Go Kart Winter
Shoot-Out Series was the golden week for Hilton Head, South
Carolina’s Tad Segars. The twenty year racing veteran
picked up his very first career win with a strong run in the
Stock Heavy division. Segars out ran Savannah’s Billy Dixon
for the victory.
“I can’t
believe I have been racing this long and have never won a
main event,” said Segars afterwards. “I just can’t believe
I won.”
Other drivers
picking up victories during the Saturday afternoon race
event included Cliff Hudson in the Rookie I; Tyler Perry in
the Rookie II; Tyler Sherrod in the Junior Unrestricted;
Eddie Morris in the Stock Light; Tim Broschard in the Stock
Medium; Steven Howard in the Outlaws and Tyler Moore in the
Kiddie Karts.
It was the
first feature victory for nine-year-old Cliff Hudson while
Tyler Perry’s victory placed him in a tie for the points
lead with fellow Rookie II driver Joseph Diekemper.
The points
race is close in the Stock Light division. Summerville,
South Carolina’s Krystle Wolfe leads this past Saturday’s
feature winner Eddie Morris by only three points. Eric
Robinson has faded back to third place over the past two
races.
In the Stock
Medium division another South Carolina driver is on top.
Tim Broschard leads Carl Bobst by only six points heading
into this weekend’s match-up on the OSP fifth-mile go kart
track.
